Questions
What about non-Scrum Agile experience (XP, Lean, etc) ? A: It is welcome. We consider these to be part of the Agile coaching toolbox and success factors for Scrum
Why are there only 23 in 2 years? A: The market is only beginning to recognize the CSC. Marketing efforts have stalled because we have all been busy coaching. All work (development, improvement, reviews) are by volunteers.
What happens to an application after it is submitted? A: We tell you we have it. We try to provide a 60 day SLA. It goes to one of 2 review teams of 5. A consensus is required on the review team for a final decision. Phone or email contact is used if clarifications are needed to the application. Rejections include feedback on areas of improvement and (soon) will include pointers to appropriate resources.
How does it relate to CSP?
This is a guide level cert, as is the CST. These indicate specialized knowledge beyond the CSP.
CSP is the SA target for all members. CSC and CST are not “the next step”. Only some CSPs would care to be a certified guide.
Notes
It is a 3 year cert. Renewal is based on hours (1000 over 3 years) plus PDUs for various professional activities.
Any professional coaching training is a plus.
We are in the middle of planning a new promotion campaign. Look for more visibility on the SA website and other places.
There is NO REQUIREMENT that you have worked in multiple companies.
What suggestions do participants have for the program?
What are some examples of Agile leadership?
Can we see examples of success? A: We do not reveal applications to anyone at this time. CSPs can see other CSP apps but we have not gone there yet. We have talked about distilling app answer into a knowledge base but it is a low priority.
Can we get help with our applications? A: We do not have a formal process for this but will soon offer it informally through the SA Website.
Is there an apprentice designation to help us bootstrap the process in certification-valued environments?. A: No and no plans for such.
