Major points from your discussion:

Why we were at the session

  • Newly independent

  • Want to know how to connect and learn

  • Want to get better at coaching

  • Have felt the value of pairing and collaborating

  • Want to share experiences

  • We’re a new coach and want to learn

  • Suggestion made to join CSC community for support

  • Suggestion to go to an agile coach camp

Gerry's personal experience of a coaching circle

  • Trusted peers

  • We commit to a regular time

  • Usually start off informally

  • We build a rapport

    • Share work situations

  • We retrospect

  • We share the facilitation of the circle

  • We have collective owenership

  • Have used A3 to help create a vision

Impediments

  • How do we find each other? Answer: start by looking around at the people you know. Local is better than distributed, start with people you already have some trust with.

  • How do we make sure there is a proper fit in the group

Infrastructure Gerry's group uses:

  • Tinychat.com

  • Skype

  • Google Wave

Actions:

A challenge for the participants: look around at people you know, find 1 person and talk within one week about forming a circle.

Some day I'd like to do a write-up about my coaching circle experience, or better yet I'll video record the 4 of us talking about it. :)
